Campanile Earrings
Campanile Earrings
At the center of the village in Lacoste sits a Campanile (Italian for bell tower), that broadcasts the time and is heard across the area. The structure is mighty and strong, built of stacked cobblestones with an open metalwork bell structure at the top. Flowers decorate the cracks and crevices, adding a feminine touch of color to this masculine tower.
Every week, the campanile is manually wound, so it will continue to function for next week. By week's end, the time is off by a minute or two (all the locals are well aware of the minor slip in time), until the clock is wound again and corrected for the week ahead. The special sound of the bell just adds to the charm of the village.
Our Campanile earrings capture that perfect harmony of masculinity with a feminine touch of the charming and magical structure that is the Campanile of Lacoste.
