The “Cafe Flatte” collection is a quirky series of cup and mug shapes meant to be hung on the wall, but they can stand free by themselves as well. They look three dimensional, but that’s an optical illusion, they’re flat!

Berit constructed them from slabs of clay and decorated them with matte underglazes and glossy glazes. Each design was carefully carved, and each piece has a hole in the back for a hook or nail. They were fired at a stoneware temperature. They look best in a little group! The artist does not use templates, so no two are the same, and Hines creates new ones regularly. They make a lovely kitchen or dining room decor.
